Terms of Service
Last updated 31 July 2026
1. Accepting these terms
By creating an account or using XPLR you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. You must be at least 13 years old to use XPLR.
2. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your sign-in secure and for the activity that happens under your account. Let us know at hello@xplr.travel if you think someone else has access.
3. Acceptable use
When using XPLR, please don't:
- Scrape, bulk-export, resell or redistribute place data, photos or map content obtained through the app.
- Attempt to break, overload, reverse engineer or gain unauthorised access to the service.
- Upload unlawful, abusive or infringing content, or invite people who haven't consented to hear from you.
- Use the service to build a competing product or to circumvent usage limits on free plans.
4. Your content
Your boards, pins, itineraries and notes remain yours. You grant us the limited permission needed to store, process and display that content back to you and to anyone you deliberately share a trip with.
5. Subscriptions and trials
Premium features may be offered on a trial or paid subscription. Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled, and you can cancel at any time from your billing settings — access continues until the end of the paid period. Prices and plan contents may change with reasonable notice.
6. Location, place and travel data
XPLR shows place details, photos, opening hours, price levels, ratings, distances, travel times and routes sourced from third parties such as Google Maps Platform, and generates suggested itineraries from them. All of it is an estimate and can be incomplete, outdated or simply wrong — a venue may have moved, changed its hours or prices, or closed permanently since the data was published.
Always verify critical details — opening hours, bookings, transport schedules, road and trail conditions, safety and local regulations — directly with the venue or operator before you rely on them. Do not use XPLR for navigation or route decisions where an error could cause harm, and never interact with the app while driving or otherwise operating a vehicle.
7. Third-party bookings, affiliate links and commissions
XPLR is a planning tool, not a travel agent, tour operator or booking merchant. When you book accommodation, transport, tickets or experiences through a link in XPLR, that booking is a contract between you and the provider (for example Booking.com or the venue itself), on their terms and their privacy policy.
When you book through the links on XPLR, we redirect you to trusted partners (like Booking.com). We may earn a commission on completed stays. This never changes the price you pay and does not influence whether a place appears in your results.
We don't take payment for those bookings, hold your reservation, or control availability, pricing, cancellation terms or refunds. Any issue with a booking — changes, cancellations, refunds, no-shows or disputes — must be raised with the provider directly.
8. Service availability
XPLR is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any place, route or itinerary information will be accurate or complete.
We work to keep XPLR available and useful, but features may change, and we may suspend or discontinue parts of the service at any time.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, XPLR is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for missed bookings, travel disruption, costs or injury arising from reliance on place, route or itinerary information. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.
10. Suspension and termination
You can stop using XPLR and delete your account at any time from your settings. Deleting your account removes your boards, pins and itineraries from our systems, other than anything we're required to keep for legal, tax or fraud-prevention reasons.
We may suspend or terminate an account, with notice where practical, if:
- It breaches these terms — in particular the acceptable-use rules above.
- It's used unlawfully, fraudulently, or in a way that harms other travellers, our providers or the service itself.
- Payment for a paid plan fails or is reversed.
- We're required to do so by law or by one of our data providers.
11. Content removal
We may remove content that breaches these terms or that a rights holder reports as infringing. If your account is terminated for a breach, you can ask us at hello@xplr.travel for a copy of your trip data, and we'll provide it where we reasonably can.
12. Changes and contact
We may update these terms; continued use after an update means you accept the revised version. Questions: hello@xplr.travel.
